Took Montana and Sawyer for a long walk today and it's like I have 2 new (and greatly improved) animals! No tugging. No lunging for squirrels. No barking at passers-by (not even the mail man!!!). They're keying off of my every move!

And the same techniques you taught me for Montana (my *former* alpha) are working wo...nders on Sawyer, who until now has run from me when I've so much as looked at him. All of this from a one-hour session. THANKS A MILLION! And we'll see you again soon.

Ladies,
Today was the first day in over a year that Hulk has been to Petsmart. I write this with tears in my eyes because I can't even believe how amazing he was. Not only did he successfully stay with a stranger for two minutes, he was surrounded by dogs..big dogs, little dogs...Old Hulk would have been lunging and barking...not a peep. We just walked right by the dogs with no problem....The kicker was how good everyone was saying he was. I am not sure if anyone has ever told us that about Hulk in public. He was sitting for petting and just impressed Danny and I so much. He got to pick out whatever he wanted for doing such a great job....I know that you guys do this everyday and maybe you know how you change people's lives and maybe you don't. I hope that you know we are forever in your debt and can't thank you girls enough for all your work with Hulk (and all of our babies). I can't thank you enough for all that you have taught us. Hulk wanted me to also tell you thank you because now he can run errands with Mom again, which he used to love to do.
Thanks for all that you ladies do-
Andrea, Danny, Storm, Hulk, kitties and fosters

"My puppy can't wait to see Tara at class each week. Tara knows exactly how to work with my stubborn pug and always has a solution ready when I am having problems. My puppy has become much more attentive and easier to handle since starting training. Tara has shown me that any dog can be trained...even mine!"

Deb Peterson with Stella

Tara helped my stubborn puppy overcome his most serious issues—from aggressive behavior to fear of the car—in just a few lessons.  It’s such a pleasure to have him hop in the car on the first try, go for walks without pulling and behave himself while I work at the computer.  Both of our lives our happier and healthier because of Tara!”

I wanted to write to you tonight and tell you that Cheyenne and I just got back from the GREATEST WALK EVER!  We practiced everything that Tara taught us today.  And it worked!  She stayed on my left side.  I was the one with the well behaved dog while others were fighting to keep their's calm when we walked by.  It was AMAZING!
A very special thank you to Tara, Amanda and to Brandie for the professional service that your provide.  You are the greatest!  After only 2 sessions, I can't even begin to tell you the difference.  I am in control.  And, Cheyenne is happy, too!  She doesn't have to be nervous or anxious.  She knows I have it all under control.  Thanks so much.  We'll keep practicing!  I'm ELATED!  Nice job.  You are very professional and provided exactly what we were looking for.

2/09 Tara and Brandi,
Lance and I wanted to say thanks again for the training class.  We all learned so much!  Greta and Heidi are doing so amazingly well with their training.
Today we went to Petsmart and got properly fitting chain collars, then spent about an hour just walking around the store and practicing walking.  I'd say that both dogs are walking almost perfectly at heel now.  And, they've got the door manners thing down pretty well too!  We practiced waiting before going in and out our front and back doors at home, as well as at Petsmart.
Best regards,
Melissa, Lance, Greta and Heidi

Tara,
I just got back from a lovely walk with Patrick. Your leash training techniques are amazing. I knew it should be an easy concept, but i had no idea what i was doing wrong this whole time. Thanks so much, this was our first pleasurable walk together.

Thanks again,
Darrell and Patrick

11/10/08:

   Tara and Brandi,

First off Tara a huge thank you for helping me build my confidence with Bella.   Sunday night we picked up Abbey and brought her over to my place to take the dogs on a walk and Bella started off with her bully behavior but after a few corrections she was much better.

By the end of the night she was licking Abbey in the face, wagging her tail uncontrollably and playing on her own like she normally does as if no one was there.  I think the highlight of the night was when Abbey was sitting and Bella was flat on her belly and flipped over as to submit to Abbey.

Ilsun was just blown away by you Tara, he couldn't even believe this was the same Bella he had known.  He said he would love to take Bella back to learn more from you.

Thank you both again, you truly have an amazing gift :)

with much respect,

Liza, Ilsun, Simbah, Abbey and Bella :)

Lucy is doing really well.  She LOVES the treadmill!  It’s so funny…now, when she wants to go for a run, she jumps on the treadmill, wags her tail, and waits for us.  It has really made a difference in her behavior.
We haven’t had a chance to get her out around dogs as much as we’d like (Bud still has a foot injury and I’ve been working late nights), but, when we do, she is doing  A LOT better.  In fact, we took her to Petsmart the other day and she did great!  She didn’t even aknowledge the other dogs!  We’d never thought that we’d see that!
Thank you so much for all of your help.
Have a great weekend!
Jamie & BUd

**Lucy is a Jack Russell, who had severe dog-dog aggression, and never tired :) **

Ripley, Overcame his dog-dog aggression, fear of people and even joined a flyball class!! Go Ripley!!

There are no words to explain my gratitude to you, Tyler, and Brandi for helping me be the Alpha I was always meant to be! Buttercup, Bubbles, and I are having a ball on our walks in the neighborhood and they  now come home.............POOPED!....after only a 20 minute walk! LOVE IT! I never felt like Bubbles was getting enough exercise, but, as you pointed out........she wasn't getting the correct exercise. She was always leading and sniffing and smelling and not walking consistently. Now....with our 'military style' walk, they WALK, and come home tired and happy........but, best of all.......MOM comes home NOT tired and VERY happy! You're the BEST! And thank you to Tyler the Fabulous Poodle for helping in our training!

Our best to you.....
Pamela Nevarez, Buttercup and Bubbles...who are still snoring after their walk over an hour ago!!

Hey Brandie!
Great to hear from you!..........my girls are amazing, and I'm glad you asked....we're having a great summer....walking morning and night and enjoying life. Wanted to let you know that I've used Tara's technique for warding off charging dogs SEVERAL times.........stomp foot and yell NO!.....and, of course, like everything else she taught us.........it works! Hope you, Tara, and the pack are having a great summer!
Hugs!
Pamela, Buttercup, Bubbles

“I started working with Tara at the beginning of this year and she’s awesome.  She has helped me tremendously with Sata.  My dog is very high energy and sometimes difficult to handle.  She instantly listened to Tara on the first day they met.  Tara is patient and knows what she’s doing.  She has taught me a lot about introducing my dog to other dogs and reading their body language.  Tara has definitely been an asset to have around.” Christie & Sata

“The first time Tara met our dogs, she was immediately able to understand them, their relationship with one another and with us.  We think she can read their minds!  We started going to Tara to train our rescue lab-mix, a guy who looks very docile but does not know how to play with other dogs.  He also was impossible to take on walks.  Tara was immediately able to get him to obey her and then taught us how to be in charge.  In addition to a couple of personal sessions, we took Reese to Tara’s Friday night group sessions, where he improved tremendously around other dogs.  Both dogs love her – she really understands them….and us!!” Michelle & Brad with Reese & Sandy :)

(Iris, very fearful greyhound. Picture to come soon!)
"Today some very wonderful stuff happened with Iris and I wanted to share it with you! When we were out for our walk, every person or dog she saw, she wanted to walk right over and say hi. And then, when a dog came running at her from across the street, she didn't cower but I got in front of her like you guys told me to! And then, as the dog was friendly, I let him say hello and she said hello right back! I was so excited about this! I've been following your advice and its been working great! I was so happy today to see this tremendous difference in her! As soon as i get my new phone, I'll send you some pictures of her for your website! "

Hi girls!

the pups were all absolutely exhausted after you left on Saturday!  They all piled up on the big dog bed up in the computer room and snoozed for a couple of hours!

We have put everyone into harnesses, and Kendra found some special collars for when they go for walks -- they work just like the slip leashes.  We're still doing two at at time (except for poor Stitch, who feels left out, so Kendra has been taking him for walks also).  The going in and out of the door is still an issue, and takes several minutes.  I have also found that my little session with them at 5:30 am goes better if I take them into the bedroom (the food bowls on the kitchen counter distracts them).  I have also been trying to do a few minutes each day one-on-one with each Cinnamon and Pippi.  If I do that, then the group session seems to go better.

My other daughters both had the same reaction when I told them you had all four sitting together -- "Even Taz?"  Yes, even Taz!  they are amazed!
Donna S.

** Donna has a pack of 5 wonderful little dogs, 2 of the females were getting into serious fights, causing unrest among the rest of the pack.  Cinnamon and Pippi are able to sit next to each other now that Donna understands their language! :) Right on Donna!**

...Everyone is cooperating very nicely.  Everyone sits down to get their meals (although Taz has a wee bit of trouble keeping that little butt down -- but he has learned that the bowl can go back up off the floor just as quickly as it comes down.  The girls have had no issues whatsoever and have even wrestled and played with a rope toy on a couple of occasions....
They all sit very pretty in a line for treats (my other girls are still in awe over that one!) although sometimes get a little grabby, so they lose that treat and have to sit and wait for more.
I am so very pleased with the work you did -- you are miracle workers!

Hello Brandi & Tara,

I have been meaning to email you two. First, thank you so much for the wonderful "advice". We started implementing your "way" as soon as you left and had immediate results! I am able to take the cat from the kitchen in my arms, have Pace sit in the middle room, put the cat on the floor by the door, open the door and let the cat out with Pace staying in the middle room...That is huge for us...amazing. And that's not the only positive change either! We are looking forward to Friday.

Peace & Truth,

Valerie & Will T.
